Rev. Fr. François Marie HERVE DU PENHOAT is the new Superior General of the SMA.
Fr. François DU PENHOAT was ordained priest on the 21st September 1985. He has a basic agricultural training and worked as an agricultural technician in the diocese of Lokossa for 2 years from 1976 to 1978. He joined the SMA in Spain, went to seminary in Madrid then at the MIL in London and finally did a master’s degree in spirituality in Spain and training as a formator in France. He alternated between services in the then District of Spain and the Mission in the Bariba country, Benin Republic. He joined the Province of Lyon in 2008 and was elected to the provincial council in 2013. He was elected provincial in 2016 and re-elected in 2019.
