Constitutions and Laws of the SMA
51. Following the decisions of the GA 2019 (Art 216 – 217), the SMA Constitutions and Laws have been revised in the light of the GA 2019.
The first draft was circulated to all Superiors and the second draft is presented to this Plenary Council.
52. The members of the Plenary Council 2022 approved the revised text.
53. The revised Constitutions and Laws will be made available in both print and digital formats.
54. The Plenary Council 2022 requests the Superior General and his Council to initiate a process of profound revision of the Constitutions and Laws.
55. This process will include:
55.1 Separate Constitutions from Laws as two different documents.
55.2 Organize the work of consultation and reflection among members.
55.3 Dedicate an issue of the SMA Bulletin for reflections on the subject
55.4 Start the process now and aim for the GA 2025 to take a decision on it.
