My name is André N’koy Odimba. But you can simply call me “André”. I am originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo (Congo-Kinshasa), born on October 4, 1973 in a family of four children of which I am the eldest and the only boy. I was ordained a priest of the African Missions on July 10, 2005, a religious institute that I joined in 1994 after my BAC and training in management information technology. I completed my priestly formation in Kinshasa (DR Congo), Cotonou (Benin) and Abidjan (Ivory Coast). After my priestly ordination, I worked as a missionary in Ivory Coast in the diocese of San Pedro: vicar at Saint Louis de Tabou (2005-2006), then parish priest of Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel in Grabo (2007-2008). In 2008, I came to France (Lyon) to set up the international media center for the African Missions, SMA Media Center. I was director of this center, living in Lyon until October 2012, and then until October 2019 from Alsace. I have been in Alsace since 2012 where I studied pastoral theology (Master 2) and sociology (Master 2) at the University of Strasbourg. In 2017, I was appointed head of the SMA complex in Haguenau (Chapel, community of fathers, etc.). In June 2019, I was elected Provincial Superior of African Missions for the province of Strasbourg, a position that I have combined since 2020 with that of parish priest of Terre des Missions, appointed by Mgr Luc Ravel, Archbishop of Strasbourg. I am participating in my third consecutive General Assembly: 2013 (GLDF delegate), 2019 (Strasbourg District delegate), 2025 (Strasbourg Provincial Superior).
