It’s been 12 days already! We haven’t seen them go by, for so much importance and vitality has been given to the topics discussed. Today’s morning saw the discussions stop on various subjects. These included the planning of future meetings, some information and then the vote on the Council texts. The highlight of the evening was the visit of Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle. Cardinal Tagle is the Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples

His visit shows the communion that exists between the SMA and the Universal Church. In one of his books the Cardinal stressed that “As a Christian community we must rediscover, recover and reclaim the power of Easter, that central element of our faith – the hope of a new coming – which is the most powerful symbol of faith that can transform our lives, our Church, our country and the world. The visit was crowned by the celebration of the Eucharist presided over by His Eminence. In his homily, he urged us to always listen to Jesus, pointing among other things, to the patience Jesus always showed in teaching his disciples. He stressed that we should never forget that our blessing is the presence of Jesus among his people. The Plenary Council 2022 could not have asked for a better gift than the visit of Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle. We felt a surge of hope that will certainly accompany our Fathers Superiors in their different units.
