Togo 31072020 3As part of its policy to promote youth employment and access to basic infrastructure for the most vulnerable, the Togolese government has launched several programs, including the Support of Vulnerable Populations (PSVP). The PSVP, which is a state program, decided to accompany the Church of Togo and more precisely the diocese of Sokodé in its mission of preferential option for the poor. The OCDI Caritas Sokodé is the organ that materializes this mission of the Church in the diocese of Sokodé.

Thus, OCDI Caritas Sokodé benefited from this partnership with the Togolese State. This allowed it to benefit from the resources to be made available to organizations able to implement projects for the development of vulnerable strata. Caritas Sokodé intends to invest in projects financed to improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries in the prefectures of the diocese of Sokodé. Several actions are targeted: support to vulnerable young people in entrepreneurship and promotion of the delivery of agricultural services in the prefecture of Tchaoudjo, access to drinking water points and sanitation facilities in the five prefectures of the diocese of Sokodé, and support for young people in bee-keeping activities in cashew-tree areas in the prefectures of Tchaoudjo and Tchamba.

To materialize these projects, Caritas Sokodé proceeded on Friday 24 July 2020 at its headquarters in Kédia (Sokodé) to the delivery of beekeeping kits and tricycles to the beneficiaries. It was in the presence of Bishop Célestin-Marie GAOUA, and some public authorities. God bless this partnership between the Togolese State and the diocese of Sokodé.
