May I crave your indulgence to write in support of the Cause of the Servant of God, Monsignor Melchior de Marion Brésillac, for his Canonization.

One of the greatest Missionaries I encountered in my minor seminary Church History studies and whose life impressed me most was Monsignor Marion Brésillac. His name was a household word among the seminarians.
He was reputed to be a very holy man, a great missionary, an extremely prayerful person who married his personal Christian convictions, especially about the missions, with what the Church’s direction was.
In him the famous eternal words of Christ were vividly exemplified, “By their fruits you will know them,” (Matthew 7:16) and “A good tree bears good fruits.” (Matthew 7:17)

The extraordinary missionary work of the Society he founded obviously going by its charism and founder’s intention is an incontrovertible testimony that he was an evangelizer whose spirit and zeal no serious missionary could overlook.
I never saw Monsignor Marion Brésillac but if the intention of canonizing somebody is to present such a person as one worthy of veneration and whose life is to be emulated, then Monsignor Marion Brésillac more than qualifies to be canonized.
His amazing spirit of sacrifice is nowhere more demonstrated than in his determination to go to West Africa when he knew that any of the deadly diseases of the White Man’s Grave, which at that time had no known remedy, would surely kill him, as, indeed, . yellow fever did.

His life shows extraordinary heroism as a Christian in every aspect of the ministry or evangelization.
I humbly submit that Monsignor Marion Brésillac is worthy of the highest ecclesiastical recognition.
Therefore, I support the Cause for his canonization in the name of the Triune God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
