From sixth to tenth march, we had the joy of welcoming, Fr. Fachtna O’Drisscoll, superior general of the Society of African Missions together with his vicar general Fr. Antony Porcellato who came for a canonical visit.

The word canonical can indeed be perceived as specialized, but in religion it means “according to the rules”. It is therefore an official visit that is included in the mandate of the superior general. During this visit, he met the provincial council of Lyon, newly installed at 150 Cours Gambetta and various services present in that house.

The department of Mediacenter was pleased to show its premises and present some of its many activities in the field of communication. Ghislain, one of the members, made a lively presentation to illuminate the different sectors Mediacenter covers. The laity attached to the SMA in different capacities did equally meet the general and his vicar.

From Lyon, the team went to Nantes will after continue to Paris and then to Strasbourg where our visitors will meet the District of Strasbourg and its members. A big thanks to all for this mutual attention and warm presence among us, this for me shows a strong sign that the SMA is truly an International family.
