Pope Francis appointed on October 9, the Archbishop of Bangui in Central African Republic as the new cardinal of that country. The Central African Republic has experienced serious clashes between two rival groups that killed thousands. Msgr Dieudonné Nzapalainga, 49, will be the youngest African cardinal during his inauguration in November in Rome. SMA is present in the country and welcomed the appointment.
