It is with deep sadness that the Generalate community at Nocetta hears of the death of Fr Pierre Trichet.

Fr Pierre was a wonderful servant of God’s mission. He was a remarkably generous priest. He served the SMA faithfully throughout 57 years of priesthood. He will be mourned by the people of Ivory Coast whom he served for over 40 years.

He is mourned now by all members of this community. His presence here will be deeply missed. I personally will miss his gentleness, his warmth, his passion for mission, his inspiring life of prayerful simplicity. Pierre was one of nature’s true gentlemen. We are all blessed for having met him.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.
