The third day of the Plenary Council

The third day of the Plenary Council
Posted on :

Beginning Monday afternoon and continuing all of Tuesday, the delegates have been meeting mostly in 4 small groups (2 French, 2 English) discussing the following questions:

1. In line with our Charism/Spiritual Patrimony, is there a need to guarantee the centrality of the African continent for the Society’s mission? If so, what are the financial implications?

2. As a Society primarily committed to Africa, how do we maintain our mission commitments in units outside Africa? What should be the guiding principles to achieve this? Do we need to do more than what has been already outlined in the previous assemblies and PCs?

3. In light of the reflection given by the GC on mission appointments, do you propose any change to the present appointment system in order to foster better stability in missions and commitments to our priorities?
