Day one of Plenary Council (PC) 2016 began today, Monday May 30, 2016 in Accra (Ghana) . There are 24 delegates, 2 simultaneous translators and the 2 secretaries. The General Bursar will arrive next week, making for a total of 29 people originating from 17 different countries from North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. There are superiors representing 15 entities, and one regional superior from each of the African Districts in Formation. Highlights from day one included the opening address from Fachtna O’Driscoll, the opening mass celebrated by the Apostolic Nuncio to Ghana, Archbishop Jean-Marie Speich, who then joined us for lunch, and an afternoon of small group work.
