Members of the Media Center met in Strasbourg from 11th to 16th May 2015. Initially scheduled to be held in Feriole, Italy, the meeting was finally held in the capital of the European Union at 4, Rue le Notre, an SMA house located near the institutions of the European Union among whom the parliament.

During the meeting, participants first discussed the current situation of the Media Center. They observed that it is a young body, which despite its recent creation performs very well. It indeed carried out the responsibilities entrusted to it. The Media Center was able to achieve considerably the 2014 – 2015 pastoral year projects. However, it encountered some difficulties including the fact that it is not known to confreres and its objectives being reduced to only scanning and processing pictures. Another difficulty is that of collaboration. The Media Center observed a difficulty in collaboration and so calls for more cooperation of colleagues no matter where they work and live. Such collaboration will synchronise and streamline the communication system of the African Missions so as to produce relevant communication output. For example working with certain entities and regions these recent months has sparked off the realisation of many exciting communication media outlet for SMA.

To meet the need of collaboration reflected in the frequent requests from several entities to expand their visibility on the web, Father André N’Koy confided to participants at the meeting of Strasbourg, “Contacts have been established with the leaders of each entity and region. We asked them to indicate to us people who could be referred to in terms of communication for the African Missions. “

The call for collaboration of Andre has not fallen in deaf ears as far as Strasbourg Province and some other entities are concerned. Indeed, the Strasbourg meeting had been an opportunity to meet and work with the communication service of the welcoming province. The communication service during the meeting expressed the need to improve the Strasbourg province’s website. And so, technical issues were discussed; working protocols were defined and agreed upon creating a mood of satisfaction for both teams. They concluded at the gathering that a proposal of website would be made to Strasbourg province in a near future.

The Media Center trove helpful to meet the communication services as it could allow the confreres to better know and understand the Media Center.
