The Rev. Fr. Richard Yapo Anou has expressed his gratitude to God for having served him 50 years of his life. It was during a thanksgiving Mass celebrated on August 28, 2016, in St. Louis church, Ebimpé, his native village in the town of Anyama.
The theme was : “Evangelization by sacred song” This Eucharistic celebration was punctuated with a homily, choir singing, prayers and speeches.
For this Rev. Father, ordained a priest on July 10, 1966 and who also celebrated his 80th birthday on April 26, 2016, the sacerdotal golden jubilee is full of symbols. He has recommended to the Christians loyalty to God, in order to receive His graces and blessings. The man of God was also proud of having formed Jean-Pierre Cardinal Kutwa for his pastoral experience at the beginning of his service to God. Rev. Fr. Richard Yapo Anou has finally expressed his gratitude to the whole Catholic Church, to his village community of Ebimpé, to the guests, and to the entire Ivorian population.
Jean-Pierre Cardinal Kutwa has expressed all the admiration and recognition of the Catholic church to Rev. Father for his 50 years in the service of God.
As for the vicar of St. Louis church, Fr. Jean Pascal Seka, he said that, according to the Gospel of St. Luke, « life must be accomplished in “God the creator.” » Thus he has invited the Catholic faithful to humility, solidarity and unity.
Let us note that this celebration was attended by political, administrative personalities, religious, and a strong mobilization of the Catholic communities from different districts of Abidjan and from various places of the country.
